Web Developer, Product Manager, and QA Lead at Spongecell, LLC in San Francisco, CA.
  • Asked to serve as Product Manager. Organized our planning period on a bi–monthly basis, creating a process whereby ideas became specifications, were transformed into designs, then implemented, and finally tested in a measured flow. Previously many features were implemented twice, due to incomplete specifications or poor / nonexistent designs. Major triumphs included: The Email composer, the Contacts tab.
  • Created usability lab and championed its use.
  • Organized weekly feature demos resulting in much greater intra–team communication.
  • Initially hired as QA lead. Created automated tests of our 'Promote' product using the Researched test case management tools, selected and deployed wrote the majority of the test cases, and organized the team into bi–monthly pre–release testing periods, resulting in a 50% increase in the number of bugs found before the product was released.
  • Did documentation work. Created a help website for the Promote product in Ruby on Rails. Created tutorial videos using Macromedia Captivate. Wrote help tips inside of Promote product.

  • Wrote 248 page guidebook from scratch for new Ariba product (Ariba QuickSource). Explained complicated online auction concepts such as 'bid transformation' using charts (created with Adobe Photoshop) and mathematical formulae when necessary.
  • Lead writer on technical team creating Ariba's documentation website. Charged with integrating various writers' work into the site, updating the site, working with coders to develop new functionality for the site. Worked with developers in India to code a site that could serve up different configurations of help files depending on which Ariba applications were calling the help site. Worked with operations team to develop a process for hosting and deploying the newly built help site.
